IN PERSON- Bring Life to Your Watercolors

Work from still life and the model. Emphasis will be on massing in layered, transparent washes initially with a gradual buildup of detail through color and tone. The particular qualities of various pigments will be examined and incorporated to build up areas of transparency and opacity, with emphasis on composition and rhythm.
ON ZOOM - Exploratory Watercolor

Thursdays 9:30am - 12:30pm
This course will explore watercolor techniques focusing on still life and various resource materials. Emphasis will be on composition, color, and issues related to the medium and will introduce students to exploring abstraction and diverse methods of using watercolor. This course is for those looking to move away from observation to create more individual paintings. Students will receive individual attention and instruction, as well as group critiques at the end of each class. There will be a brief demonstration for those who are unfamiliar with the medium.
